We presently have a membership
of 240 volunteers. At the present time the company
responds to an average of 350 jobs per year, In addition
to firefighting the membership spends many hours in
training in order to keep up on their firefighting
skills. The company actively participates and supports
many community events.
The Nester Hose Company
is one of three volunteer companies in the city. The
other two are the C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Co,
and the Hydrant Hose Company. Our Department is a
combination Department with a career staff of 18 firefighters
and a Career Chief. We operate out of the Genesee
St Station which was built in 1999.
The Engine Currently
assigned to the Nester Hose Company is a 1991 Pierce
Lance 500 gallon of Water and a 1500 GPM pump and
is often referred to as the ‘City Engine”.
In addition we, along with the two other companies,
operate a 1996 Pierce Heavy Rescue.
